Throughout the series the somersault kick has always been a very effective attack. It knocks your opponent down, deals extremely good damage (in Virtua Fighter 2 it dealt a little too much), and it taunts after it hits (well actually a lot of Jacky's moves taunt after they hit) which adds a little spite to his style. The problem with the somersault kick is that it can be sidestepped. Be wary of executing the maneuver with your back near a wall or you'll find if the enemy blocks they'll be able to close in and attack while you're in the air.' I'm faster than lightning!' Okay so maybe he's not that fast and no he's not the quickest character, but Jacky's still no slouch on the speed. Jacky has an extremely good recovery rate.

Some moves even end in a back step. All five 'Short Slide Shuffles' (P-P-TOWARDS-P-P-K-BACK, P-K-BACK, TOWARDS-P-P-K-BACK, P+K-K-BACK, K+G-BACK) can chain into the 'Slide Shuffle' (BACK-P+K+G.) Pulling off this move will create a lot of space between you and your opponent in which you can run attack, or just kill some time.As far as juggling is concerned Jacky has a great pop up. The 'Knee Kick' (TOWARDS-K) will send your opponent floating into the air in which you have the opportunity to 'take advantage' of him. By far my favorite to 'follow up' the knee kick is the Lightning Storm 5.

With the right timing every kick of this combo will hit. Another good juggle is with the 'Double Low Kick' ((hold) DOWN-K-K.) Not as fancy but will deal more damage if you can't get the timing for the Lightning Storm 5.One problem I came across with playing Jacky is the constant taunting he did.
